Spring
Military Ball a Big Hit |
|
The
Spring Military Ball is an opportunity for cadets to interact in a
social, more relaxed setting. This year's ball was
great. Everyone that attended had a great time. The
highlight of the night was the traditional humerous slide show
presentation of photos of cadets and cadre throughout the
year. The MSIIIs also entertained with a very funny stand up
comedy act. Following the meal and entertainment, the dj
started rockin' and everybody started dancing. |

Cadre
and Cadets Host Leadership Experience for Graduate Students from the
ASU College of Business |
|
The
ASU ROTC cadre and cadets recently hosted the leaders reaction
course for the graduate students from the ASU College of
Business. Approximately 50 students got an opportunity to
"test" their leadership skills. The course was
designed to place cadets and students in stressful situations and
evaluate their leadership skills while dealing with many obstacles
and challenges. Master Sergeant Michael Guyton says "The
students appeared to enjoy the event. The teamwork displayed
was outstanding." Since the completion of the leaders
reaction course in 2001, over 200 students have been exposed to the
military style of leadership through the ASU ROTC program, including
students from Russia. During the Spring semester our cadets
have an opportunity to try out the course as well. Corporate
America pays big bucks to put their leaders through events such as
this. Students exposed to this type of leadership opportunity
should leave with more confidence in their ability to lead, as well
as develop ideas on how to implement team building skills in their
own groups. |

The
Order of the Tribe is an annual "pep" rally that pays
tribute to the athletes and helps develop a sense of pride and
excitement around the university. ASU ROTC is proud to be a
part of this event. There were approximately 2000 students and
faculty present for the event. |

Fall
Ice-Breaker a Big Hit With Cadets |
|

|
CDT
Ross serves up a winner during a volleyball game held at the Fall
ice-breaker. The ice-breaker was a winner too, as all of the
cadets appeared to thoroughly enjoy the comraderie and social
interaction with one another. The cadet ice-breaker is an
annual event held the first week of the Fall semester. It
helps the veteran cadets get back into the "swing" of
things and allows the newer cadets an opportunity to get acquainted
and feel like part of the family. The event was highligted by
an awards ceremony to recognize NALC graduates and summer training
graduates, and a contracting cermony. Volleyball, basketball,
horseshoes, football, and good food were also enjoyed by all.

| Our
staff recently said goodbye to Major Daniel Tiscareno. Major
